Nick Cannon may have been hoping for a reconciliation with his ex-wife Mariah Carey, but he admitted it was unlikely.
In an August interview with E! News, Cannon, 43, who was married to the 55-year-old singer for eight years, told the outlet he would “absolutely” get back together with Carey.
“It would be stupid if I didn't,” the “Masked Singer” host said. “We're meant to be together.”
However, Cannon admitted to People magazine in a recent interview that his chance to be with the “Fantasy” singer had passed.
“Yeah, she doesn’t want me anymore,” he said. “She’s over my crazy stuff.”
Carey and Cannon began dating in early 2008 before marrying at his Bahamas estate in April of that year. In April 2011, the couple welcomed twins, Moroccan and Monroe, but they separated in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2016.

Cannon and the five-time Grammy winner have remained on good terms and continue to raise Morrocan and Monroe as friends.
Since their divorce, Cannon has fathered 10 more children with five different women.
Comedian and model Brittany Bell has three children together: Golden Sagon, 7, Powerful Queen, 3, and Rise Messiah, 6 months. He has three-year-old twins Zion and Zillion, as well as a daughter, Beautiful, 1, with radio personality Abby De La Rosa.
Reality star Bre Tiesi shares a child with Cannon, Legendary Love, 2, and model LaNisha Cole also shares a child with him, Onyx Ice, 1.
Cannon's youngest child is one-year-old Halo Marie, born in November 2022, a daughter he shares with model Alyssa Scott. Their child, Zen, died at the age of 5 months in 2021 from brain cancer.
Speaking with People, Cannon said he has strong co-parenting relationships with all of his children's mothers.
“Yeah, I mean, it’s a credit to them, you know what I mean?” he said. “Dealing with me must be crazy.”

“Ultimately, if you put the kids first and take the ego out of it, you can do anything,” Cannon added.
The “America's Got Talent” alum continued to share details about the “great summer” he had with his kids.
“We spent time in Malibu, we traveled a lot and we went to the beach,” Cannon told People. “So I think all the kids had a really good time.”
Cannon said he is now preparing his offspring to return to school, which has led him to recall “fun” memories from his younger years.
“It reminds me of when I was in school, buying clothes and getting the kids excited,” he said.
However, Cannon noted that some of his children were reluctant to return to school and leave summer behind.
“I have a 7-year-old who's in fourth grade,” Cannon said of Golden. “He's so smart that even school bores him.”

He continued: “So it’s like re-engaging him and getting him excited because he had so much fun over the summer. So, okay, ‘We can still have just as much fun during the school year,’ but it’s just about keeping the enthusiasm going.”
Meanwhile, Cannon admitted that being the father of teenagers Moroccan and Monroe is “very scary.”
“Teenagers are scary. I feel like I’m still a teenager,” he said. “To see my daughter literally become a young woman before my eyes is very scary.”
