New Star Trek movie, starring Michelle Yeoh, has a release date

Almost ten years after the release of Star Trek: Limitless (2016), here is the Federation back in a feature film. But without the Captain Chris Pine. This time, Star Trek: Section 31 will be carried by Michelle Yeoh. The Oscar-winning actress (for Everything Everywhere All at Once) will carry this film derived from the series Star Trek: Discoveryin which she played Captain Philippa Georgiou, transformed into Empress Philippa Georgiou from a parallel world.

Star Trek: Section 31which will be the 14th film in the saga, has a release date: it will be Friday January 24, 2025, but not in the cinema. It will be seen on the Paramount+ platform (and also in France via Canal+). The announcement was made this weekend during New York Comic-Con.

Omari Hardwick and Kacey Rohl will complete the cast. In the history of the film, very linked to the series DiscoveryGeorgiou joined “a secret division of Starfleet tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, known as Section 31. It now works with a motley group of agents.” A trailer can be seen below.

Craig Sweeny wrote the film, which was directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi. Meanwhile, the film Star Trek 4 with Chris Pinenow in the hands of Steve Yockey, is still expected in theaters soon.
