Without a role for four years, the former Abby Sciuto is officially calling it quits.
End of career for Pauley Perrette. The actress, aged 55, announced that she had decided to retire, far from the industry.
“I am not ungrateful for the advantages that [le métier d’actrice] brought me“, confides Perrette to HELLO magazine! “But I'm a different person now and I want to be myself all the time. It takes a lot of courage for me to say that to myself, but that's really how I feel.”
The one who was Abby Sciuto for the first 15 seasons of NCIS was already technically far from the industry. Her last role was in 2020, when she starred in the sitcom Brokecanceled after a dozen episodes.
“At this point in my life, I have this deep need to find authenticity in everything.” adds Pauley Perrettewhich now produces documentaries. “Being an actress, especially at certain times in my life, was a form of escape; it's like a drug because I didn't have to be me, I could be someone else. As a result, becoming an actress again would deprive me of this life of true authenticity that I live 100% of the time.“
It must be remembered that Pauley Perrette left suddenly NCIS referring to “multiple physical attacks“, asserting that a “very rich and very powerful advertising machine” had let it happen. She had notably cited Mark Harmon.
NO I AM NOT COMING BACK! EVER! (Please stop asking?) I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me. I have nightmares about it. I have a new show that is SAFE AND HAPPY! You'll love it!#HappyPlace Love y’all!
