Mufasa, Sonic and Moana make millions at the French box office

Taking full advantage of the Christmas holidays, the three family films have filled cinemas in France these days.

The Lion King keep his crown. After two weeks in theaters in France, the Mufasa by Disney is still number 1 at the French box office. With 1.3 million additional admissions in recent days, the film already has more than 2.5 million spectators here. Better yet, attendance is up (by 13%) compared to the first week!

Enough to see the future with serenity, even if the scores are far from the first Lion King in live-action (2019): in a pre-COVID context, Jon Favreau's film already had 5 million admissions after two weeks and ended up with more than 10 million tickets sold. Mufasa will have difficulty getting that far.

On the other hand, the lion succeeds in keeping the hedgehog in check. Big release of the week, Sonic 3 debuted in second place at the French box office, with more than a million spectators in 687 French cinemas. A full-speed start for this sequel which starts stronger than the two previous parts. Sonic 3 already seems certain to do better than Sonic And Sonic 2 (2.2 million entries each upon arrival).

On the podium, Moana 2 garners another million more admissions for its fifth week of operation and takes advantage of the holidays to boost its attendance (+4%). The sequel in the Pacific is approaching 7 million admissions here and is ahead of the viewing times of Vice Versa 2 (6.8 million in June after 5 weeks). Little Riley had almost 9 million spectators in our country this summer. And Moana 2 should do the same

In the rest of the box office, we note thatWith Fanfare always rings true. With 300,000 more admissions in the fifth week, the feel good comedy confirms being the phenomenon of this end of year and exceeds 1.6 million. Conversely, the Bougheraba will not do the same thing again SEGPA. While The SEGPAs (2021) and SEGPA on skis (2023) had a million entries, Under nuts is less than 500,000 after two weeks.

Finally, we can note the timid start of the vampire. The remake of Nosferatudirected by Roger Eggers, is satisfied with 170,000 curious people, in a limited number of 220 rooms.
