Two suspected migrants – one of whom was strapped with a loaded machine gun – are roaming the streets of New York again after attacking two police officers as they resisted arrest last week.

Abraham Sosa, 20, who lives above a daycare in the Bronx, was spotted trespassing and urinating in an unauthorized tunnel at a Bronx subway station on November 5 around 4:30 p.m. when police approached him and repeatedly asked him for his identification, which he refused to provide, the NYPD told Fox News Digital.

Officers then attempted to arrest Sosa on the north platform of Kingsbridge subway station, but he resisted by “stiffening his arms and refusing to be handcuffed,” police said.

A brief struggle then ensued, with Christopher Mayren, 20, intervening to interfere with the arrest.

During the altercation, a loaded and defaced Palmetto State Armory PA-15 firearm fell from Sosa's backpack, according to police.

Mayren also threw one of the officer's body cameras onto the subway track.

They were both taken into custody and Mayren was later found in possession of one of the officer's cell phones.

Two police officers were injured but not life-threatening and were transported to area hospitals. They were both thrown to the ground during the fight, according to a criminal complaint.

Sosa was charged with numerous charges, including criminal possession of a machine gun, criminal possession of a loaded firearm and a defaced firearm, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.

He was also charged with trespassing, assault on a police officer and assault, as well as 25 counts of criminal possession of a weapon with a bullet, according to police.

Mayren was charged with obstructing governmental administration, criminal mischief, criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny, aggravated harassment and stalking.

Mayren was released without bail and Sosa was sent to Rikers Island on $25,000 bail, which he posted on Nov. 12, the Bronx District Attorney's Office told Fox News Digital.

The NYPD told Fox News Digital that neither Sosa nor Mayren had been arrested before.

Sosa initially claimed he had injured his ankle.

“Really?” Sosa told police, according to the criminal complaint. “To go to the bathroom?

“But miss, I hurt my ankle,” he said. “Let me show you my ankle.”

The New York Post, citing sources, reports that the two suspects are migrants. Postal sources said a tattoo on Mayren's arm links him to a vicious drug cartel.

The law prohibits law enforcement from revealing a person's immigration status. Fox News Digital has contacted ICE for more information on their immigration status.

“It’s crazy,” a Bronx detective told The Post on Thursday. “You have a Mexican cartel member running around. That tattoo is a billboard to say 'I'm a criminal. I don't care about your laws.'

“Can it get any more dangerous than taking the subway with a loaded gun? And when he's not on a train, he's on the little kids' floor at daycare,” they said. “These are two very dangerous scenarios.”

This isn't the first time migrants have been accused of attacking New York's finest.
