Directors Jake Kasdan, Patty Jenkins and Joe Cornish were brought on to direct them.
Universal Pictures has big ambitions for the license LEGO. The studio has just hired Jake Kasdan (Jumanji), Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) And Joe Cornish (Attack the Block) to make three live-action films, adapted from the little yellow bricks.
No title or details have been revealed, but the three films, which will therefore have real actors in the cast, will be produced by Jill Wilfert and Ryan Christians of the group LEGO.
Kasdan will direct from a screenplay written by Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul, from an original idea by Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows.
Jenkins will direct the film from a screenplay she co-wrote with Geoff Johns.
Cornish had to rewrite a script to direct the third film based on a script written by Heather Anne Campbell (Rick & Morty), already inspired by a story by Simon Rich (Miracle Workers).
Universal's Executive Vice President of Production Development Matt Reilly and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell will oversee these projects for the studio.
These three films LEGO untitled will be produced as part of the ongoing partnership between Universal and LEGOwhich began more than ten years ago.
We will recall that before these live films, LEGO has evolved into a billion-dollar franchise, with four animated films released in theaters.
