Max unveils his first French series, inspired by a sordid true story.
The attacks of November 13th traumatized the whole of France. Even those who did not experience them from the inside. A Devoted Friend will tell the sordid lie of a “false” victim, who pretends to be a survivor of the Bataclan.
A first French series for HBO and the Max platform, recently arrived here, which will take the form of a psychological thriller embodied by the César-winning actress Laure CalamyArieh Worthalter, Ava Baya, Annabelle Lengronne, Alexis Manenti and Anne Benoît complete the cast.
Made by Just Philippot (The Cloud, Acid) and created by Fanny Burdino, A Devoted Friend will be a mini-series in 4 episodes, the first episode of which will be available for streaming on Max from Friday October 11, then one episode per week.
The synopsis: “On the night of November 13, 2015, Christelle, like the rest of the country, is in shock. She was at all the Eagles of Death Metal concerts in Paris. But this time, she wasn't there. However, she gets in touch with several victims to offer them her support and finds a purpose in these survivors of the company. When the idea of creating an association takes shape, Chris establishes himself as an essential element. But as her influence and connections grow, the inconsistencies in her story arouse suspicion. Real lies, false victim. How far will she be willing to go?”
