She has found the last role of her great career. Kathy Bates is set to retire… but not just yet. At 76, the Oscar-winning star of Myserypassed by Titanic, The Office Or American Horror Story, accepted one last role. She will be Matlockthis fall, on American television (on CBS from September 22 and in France on Paramount +), a classic crime series which will be his last “track tour“.

This is what she confirmed in a recent interview with the New York Times. Kathy Bates says she recently experienced a film shoot that went wrong. She doesn't specify which one, but the clash was enough to make her want to hang up her boots for good. Ready to stop acting, she put her retirement on hold after reading the script for Matlockabout a woman who feels that her age has made her invisible, even though she is still as brilliant and cunning as ever.
