Who is Jod Na Nawood really? “This will only really be revealed towards the end…”
In the Galaxy far, far away, appearances are sometimes deceiving. And the children of Skeleton Crew learned it the hard way in episode 3 of the new series Star Wars. Warning spoilers!
The prisoner embodied by Jude Lawwhom he helped escape from the pirate port, is not a Jedi! Even if he masters the Force, even if he has the hood and the look, Jod Na Nawood is not quite who we think. Besides, he is also known as Captain Silvo and also as Crimson Jack! We understand that the boy has lived several lives and not all of them very honest. The English actor explains in EW:
“He's full of contradictions. You never really know who he is or what he's capable of because he sort of has all these sides and these faces and these names. I want to say that he's a survivor above all. He is quick-witted and agile. But is he a threat?
Jude Law says no more. The true identity of his character will wait. And she will make us wait until episode 8, the finale of Skeleton Crew : “It won't really be revealed until the end… At that point, you'll really get a glimpse of his history and why he can wield the Force and be Force-sensitive.”
Obviously, he is not very educational and has nothing of a Jedi Master in his way of playing with the truth, even when it comes to guiding children: “It's very telling about his past, I would say. He's someone who didn't have a childhood. He's someone who was torn from his childhood, in a way and that's why he looks at children with this kind of disdain.”
So is Jod Na Nawood a former “Youngling” of the Jedi Order, one of those kids taken from his family to be trained in a Temple? A young apprentice who would have given up on the matter halfway through and would have fallen on the path of crime?
While waiting for the answer, Skeleton Crew will continue next Wednesday on Disney Plus in France.
