Pennsylvania Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro was lambasted online after he took the time to sign off on a missile this weekend that was potentially aimed at Russian assets in the war in Ukraine.
Shapiro, who is considered Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's runner-up to Vice President Kamala Harris, posted a video of himself signing the missile at the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant (SCAAP) in President Biden's hometown.
“We must all do our part in the fight for freedom – from the workers of Scranton who are making Pennsylvania the arsenal of democracy to the brave Ukrainian soldiers who are protecting their country,” Shapiro captioned his video.
“We support Ukraine in its just defense of its homeland against Russian aggression.”
However, the response from the right was sharp, with conservative commentator David Harris Jr. saying the situation showed that “the Democrats are now the party of war, and they're proud of it. It's sad.”
“The United States should be negotiating peace, not fueling war,” added Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Republican of Georgia.
“I am 100% against this, and so are most Americans,” she wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “The US funds the Ukrainian government to the tune of $1 billion a month to run it and is funding most of the war with weapons, ammunition, and equipment.”

Other critics contrasted the autograph with Shapiro's criticism of former President Trump.
“Zelensky basically backed Kamala in Pennsylvania while Josh Shapiro signed ammo,” Philadelphia commentator Joey Mannarino wrote on X.
“He called Trump and Vance ‘radicals.’ He also said Trump has no idea how to end the war. How can that not be considered a violation from a man we fund?”
Senator Bob Casey, Democrat of Pennsylvania – who is in a tight re-election race with businessman David McCormick – was seen shaking hands with Zelenskyy as Shapiro wrote a message on the missile.
Other critics pointed out that chaos was erupting elsewhere in the Commonwealth while Shapiro, Zelenskyy and Casey toured the weapons plant.
SCRANTON TALKS ABOUT THE 'BIDENOMIC'
Jack Posobiec, a Philadelphia native, right-wing commentator and editor of Human Events, shared a video of the city plagued by illegal “car rallies” and the police activity that responded to them.
At least three people have been arrested, and a police official told WCAU they have photos of many others who took over Center City, setting off fireworks, doing donuts with their cars, injuring officers and causing chaos into the wee hours of the morning, disrupting neighbors.
A video posted on X also appears to show a downtown Apple Store being looted Monday night.
“This was happening in Philadelphia while Josh Shapiro was taking selfies with artillery shells and Zelensky,” Posobiec said on X.

In an official statement, Shapiro said that Pennsylvania is the “cradle of American freedom” and that Pennsylvanians therefore stand with Ukrainians in their fight against “blatant aggression.”
He also noted that Pennsylvania would sign an agreement with the Ukrainian state of Zaporizhia that “will foster collaboration for years to come.”
Regarding the agreement, Pennsylvania Secretary of Community and Economic Development Rick Siger told WHTM that the pact “will help support Ukraine’s future economic revitalization, while also stimulating our economy and creating jobs for Pennsylvanians.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Shapiro and Casey for additional comment but did not receive a response as of press time.
