“We could call it: Just the two of us.”
While Lady Gaga comes from to present Joker: Folie à deux at the Venice Film Festival and that Ridley Scott prepared the upcoming release of Gladiator IIM6 will broadcast this Wednesday evening, for the first time in clear, their recent collaboration: House of Gucci.
A “strange black farce”that First recommends you for its scathing critique of the bourgeoisie, even if the film has received a fair amount of criticism regarding the acting. Note that the channel will then offer a documentary on this terrible news item that affected the family of this haute couture house entitled Gucci: the truth behind the fiction.
In early 2022, after he had just been the target of a fair amount of mockery regarding his “bigger than life” incarnation of Paolo Gucci, Jared Leto was not discouraged. On the contrary, when interviewed by Jess Cagle, this actor famous for his shocking incarnations recounted in detail his happy experience on the set of House of Gucciemphasizing in particular his meeting with Al Pacino.
He plays Paolo Gucci, cousin of Maurizio Gucci (murdered in 1995 by his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani and played by Adam Driver). We can discover in the film A completely transformed Letobalding head and Italian accent at the service of this improbable camouflage. A 180° transformation that pleased the actor so much that he already imagined himself putting the costume back on in a prequel to House of Guccione-on-one with Al Pacino, playing his father Aldo Gucci.
Exclusive – Jared Leto: “I can promise you one thing: I will never be boring.”
For Jared Leto, the two characters have a complicated relationship, which the actor describes as “savage” : “They can be at each other's throats and suing each other any minute now, then meet up for coffee.” A relationship that the actor imagines developing in a future feature film, a prequel to the Gucci family. “We could call it: Just the two of us. [Pacino] was fantastic and so generous. He's what you hope to be when you get to that place and that position in terms of openness and kindness and willingness to do another take and dig a little deeper and talk about the scene. I was absolutely in heaven with him and with Ridley.” A memorable filming experience for Jared Leto, whose acting was validated by Al Pacino on set.
He says that once he was in Paolo's shoes, Al Pacino didn't recognize him and thought he was dealing with a somewhat clingy Italian every time he came to see him. “He thought I was just some weird Italian guy trying to talk to him or get his autograph or something,” Leto said. Someone had to explain to Pacino that it was Jared Leto under the extravagant clothes and heavy Paolo Gucci makeup. “He then exclaimed: 'My son, my son!' And he fell to the floor. He was just stunned. The fact that it happened with one of the greatest actors in the world was a great gift, because it gave me faith that if Al can believe in this guy, then we all can. It gave me a confidence boost right from the start.”.
House of Gucciby Ridley Scott, starring Adam Driver, Lady Gaga, Jared Leto, Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons, arrives tonight on free-to-air television. Here is the trailer:
