Future project of the new DC Universe, Batman: The Brave and the Bold is still in script development.

In recent days, he declined the upcoming program for his DC Universe, while it will begin Creature Commandos on Max. And in this list of projects spread out until 2026, no trace of a new Batman yet announced for a long time. SO James Gunn takes stock of his Black Knight.

In a recent interview with Collider, he confirms that this film Batman: The Brave and the Bold has not been canceled and is still under development. However, no date is possible yet, because the script is not yet finished.

“There's no set timeline. Because everything in the DC Universe that we're building is going to be based on the writers. So until we have a script that I'm totally happy with, this movie won't get made .”

Going further in his reflection, he assures that other films and series not yet announced “have received the green light from the studio or are about to get it. But for Batman and for them, it's all about the story, because ultimately we have to be happy with the story we're telling. That's what matters most. And once The Brave and the Bold gets to that point, then we will make the film.”

The Batman 2scheduled for October 2026, will be released before then. Moreover, the existence of another Dark Knight, in the universe of Matt Reevesis certainly not conducive to the launch of a new Batman at the cinema on the big screen. Certainly Warner Bros. is not very favorable to the idea of seeing two different Bruces shooting at each other at the same time in theaters.

For now, we know that the director Andy Muschietti (of That And The Flash) must take care of the staging. The story should be inspired by the comics by Grant Morrison and artist Andy Kubert, with Bruce Wayne/Batman learning that he fathered a son, Damian, with Talia al Ghul, the daughter of his sworn enemy, Ra's al-Ghul.

Waiting for, Superman will be released in theaters on July 11, 2025.
