Zachary Levi, official support of the Republican candidate, believes that many of his colleagues do not dare to cast their pro-Trump vote, for fear of no longer working.
He's currently standing out in Hollywood. Zachary Levi officially announced its support for Donald Trump during a meeting in Michigan on September 28. A form of “professional suicide” according to the actor Shazamwho has since been proclaiming that his career risks taking a hit because of this contrarian position. Because almost all of industry has posed itself as a bulwark against Donald Trump. Actors, actresses, directors, showrunners… Hollywood is very largely pro-Kamala Harris so Zachary Levi assures that a good number of his colleagues do not dare to express their support for the Republican candidate, for fear of no longer working.
A rhetoric that Whoopi Goldberg dismantled on his show The View. SO Zachary Levi posted a message on Instagram in recent days to respond to him and hammer home his message:
“To Whoopi Goldberg and all the people at 'The View,' I don't think it's accurate to say that Hollywood is both a Democratic and a conservative town. Back in Whoopi's day, there was perhaps- “Be more balanced. But you really have to be at a certain level in your career these days to really get away with being an outspoken Republican in Hollywood.”
Famous examples of Jon Voight And Dennis Quaidconvinced Republicans cited by Goldberg, are in reality only the exceptions which prove the rule, according to the former Chuck : “Of the thousands of actors in Hollywood, the fact that you can only name these two says a lot about reality.”estimated Zachary Levi.
“There are many others actually, and in fact, many of them sent me messages (after the meeting). A lot of people in my industry, in Hollywood, are terrified of the idea of publicly saying that they would vote for Donald Trump or be conservative in any way. That's why we don't see them. That's why they're not very widespread or prominent. They know. that there will be consequences for saying things like this…”
So is a part of Hollywood afraid of siding with Donald Trump? Or Zachary Levi is he really isolated in his profession? The actor today denounces an industry “which goes completely into a tailspin. We are eroding. The pandemic and the strikes… they've already eroded it so much… I'm speaking to you Trump voters who didn't vote, it's now or never. Do what you think you should do. You can come out publicly and say it, but if you think you still can't, then don't. I will never force you to do it. But know that if what you're afraid of is somehow the reaction of an industry that very soon won't exist anymore, then don't let that hold you back.”
