The huge success with François Cluzet and Omar Sy returns to the cinema this Wednesday, July 31.

Last week, fans of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's universe celebrated the return to theaters of The fabulous destiny of Amélie Poulainjust in time for the start of the Olympic Games being held in France this summer. Starting this Wednesday, Gaumont is re-releasing another very popular French film: Untouchables.

A program in French, as well as in French with English subtitles, because the comedy by Eric Tolédano and Olivier Nakache has broken records both here and abroad: in 2011, it had 19 million admissions in France and 51 million worldwide.

Its popularity is fully deserved. Upon its release, First defended its very fair tone and the alchemy between its two main actors, François Cluzet And Omar Sy. Here is our review:

“The subject is a real headache. Because the opposition between the characters is too marked, almost caricatured. By discovering the bumpy life of Philippe Pozzo di Borgo and then by meeting the man, Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache said to themselves that there was material there to tell essential things about tolerance, surpassing oneself and the taste for life. All sprinkled with an essential ingredient: humor, which the aristocrat never abandoned.

Untouchables is therefore a comedy that reconciles the irreconcilable, the rich and the poor, the invalid and the healthy, the placid and the joker, the aesthete and the profane. It is a recital of witticisms, a deluge of impertinence, a festival of hits…

The good mood is guaranteed by Omar Sy, a true nature and a true actor, but also by François Cluzet, whose tender gaze betrays the kindness of a big brother towards his partner. The success of the film lies in this obvious alchemy between the two men, who could not better serve the story and the characters. As a result, when emotion surfaces, it does not seem artificial, arising naturally from the relationships that have been established between Philippe/François and Driss/Omar.”
