Impact Day – Showers return this evening
Opening the door to much cooler air once showers exit.
AT 730 AND EARLIER THIS WEEK, IT FELT LIKE FOOTBALL WEATHER WAS BACK ACROSS WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA. WE’LL BE GETTING BACK INTO THAT AS WE GO INTO THE WEEKEND. A LITTLE BIT OF A CHANGE FOR US, THOUGH HERE ON YOUR FRIDAY. STARTING TO SEE SOME OF THOSE EARLY MORNING COLORS SHOWING UP AS WE TAKE A LIVE LOOK OVER DOWNTOWN WITH ACTION CAM. SKIES ARE STILL CLEAR, TEMPERATURES VERY PLEASANT TO GET THE MORNING STARTED. MID 40S FOR SOME SELECT LOCATIONS. THAT INCLUDES WAYNESBURG AND ALSO KITTANNING. THIS MORNING. MEANWHILE, IT IS 58, IN NEW CASTLE, MONROEVILLE AND UNIONTOWN. 57 CURRENT TEMPERATURE PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL LOWER 50S FOR WASHINGTON. ALSO CRANBERRY AND GREENSBURG HERE AS WE GET THE DAY STARTED HEADING INTO THE AFTERNOON, TEMPERATURES WILL TAKE ANOTHER STEP UP. WE’RE ALL IN THE 80S TODAY. OF COURSE, IT WAS WARM YESTERDAY, BUT NOT HUMID. IT’S GOING TO START TO FEEL A LITTLE BIT STICKIER TODAY AS A BREEZE STARTS TO KICK IN. AND THAT BRINGS IN SOME CHANGES AS WE GO INTO YOUR FRIDAY EVENING AND IS AN IMPACT DAY, BUT IT’S MAINLY FOR WHAT COMES VERY LATE IN THE DAY. WE GET THROUGH THE WORK AND SCHOOL DAY JUST FINE. YOU START TO NOTICE MORE CLOUDS BUILDING IN, BUT IN TIME FOR KICKOFF. FOR SOME HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAMES, ESPECIALLY NORTH OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY, THINGS COULD BE STARTING TO GET A LITTLE BIT WET AS A SWIFT COLD FRONT STARTS TO MOVE IN, AND THAT WILL BRING SCATTERED SHOWERS WITH A FEW EMBEDDED DOWNPOURS, POSSIBLY EVEN A RUMBLE OF THUNDER. A BETTER CHANCE FOR THAT IS GOING TO BE CLOSER TO THE BORDER WITH OHIO, BUT STILL A BRIEF BURST OF RAIN POSSIBLE. ALL THAT RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO SWEEP OFF TOWARDS THE EAST AS WE GO INTO THIS EVENING. SO FIRST, GETTING WET AROUND NEW CASTLE SPOTS LIKE UNIONTOWN, ALSO DOWN TO WEST VIRGINIA. SOME OF THE LAST SPOTS TO SEE THE RAIN LATER ON THIS EVENING. WE WILL WAKE UP TO SHOWERS TOMORROW MORNING, SO WE’LL KEEP IT AN IMPACT DAY, BUT IT’S NOT GOING TO BE RAINING ALL DAY LONG. IN FACT, AFTER NOONTIME, MOST OF US SHOULD BE DRYING OUT, USHERING IN SOME SUNSHINE, BUT ALSO A CHANGE IN THE AIR AS WE WILL BE GOING BACK TO THAT FALL. FEELING OVER THE WEEKEND, AND WE WILL KEEP IT COOL STRAIGHT INTO SUNDAY. AS WELL. ALTHOUGH THE PATTERN WILL START TO DRY OUT AS WE GO INTO THE LATTER HALF OF THIS WEEKEND. ON TAP TODAY, WARMER TURNING BREEZY 86 FOR A HIGH TEMPERATURE WITH MORE CLOUDS COMING OUR WAY INTO THE EVENING. THEN TONIGHT IMPACT DAY RAIN AT TIMES GOING TO STAY BREEZY WITH TEMPERATURES DROPPING BACK INTO THE UPPER 50S ABOUT A TEN DEGREE CLIMB TOMORROW AS SHOWERS COME TO AN END. STILL IN THE UPPER SECONDS FOR A HIGH ON SUNDAY, WE’RE GOING TO KEEP THOSE SUNNY SKIES GOING INTO THE START OF THE NEW WEEK, BUT YOU’LL NOTICE WITH YOUR 4-DAY PLUS 4 MORE TEMPERATURES ARE INCHING BACK UP IN THE 80S, SO WE HAVEN’T SEEN THE LAST OF THEM JUST YET.
