Director Takashi Yamazaki is preparing another film with the 70-year-old Kaiju.
While Hollywood has been seizing legendary Japanese monsters for years, Godzilla Minus One returned the church to the center of the village in 2023. The Japanese film conquered the whole world, collecting $115 million in global box office revenue, allowing itself to win the Oscar for Best Visual Effects on the nose and with Marvel's beard (The Guardians 3) or Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible 7).
Obviously, the phenomenon Godzilla Minus One couldn't stop there. A sequel is being prepared. The director Takashi Yamazakialso a screenwriter and visual effects designer, will return to make another film Godzilla with the Toho studio.

It was Toho who confirmed it during the weekend (see below), specifying that Takashi will officially be back at the helm.
As the video indicates, this sequel has been given the green light, and that's it for now. We don't know anything about the story. “More information to follow” we are told. Will it be a direct sequel to Godzilla Minus One or another adventure with this Godzilla ? All doors are open, even if Minus One suggested at the end the return of Koichi Shikishima And Noriko Ōishi.
No release date set yet.
