Alex Soros, son of a billionaire financier George Sorosmet with Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz and hosted him at his New York apartment.

“I am honored to welcome Governor Tim Walz to my home in New York!” Soros wrote in a message posted on X on Tuesday.

Soros, 38, has been politically active since taking over from his father, donating millions of dollars to political committees aimed at helping Democrats win elections and developing various left-wing initiatives.

Alex's social media profiles contain dozens of photos of himself and leading House and Senate Democrats since 2018.

The two that appear the most are Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York and Nancy Pelosi, then Speaker of the California House of Representatives.

A few weeks ago, he posted a photo with Vice President Kamala Harris, writing: “It was a pleasure to catch up with Madam Vice President recently, [Kamala Harris]” ”

Alex has also donated millions of dollars to Democrats in recent years, though much less than his father. Since the 2018 election, Alex has contributed more than $5 million to federal political coffers. Records show that his largest contribution was $2 million to the Schumer-aligned Senate Majority PAC during that time.

Alex gave more than $700,000 to the Biden Victory Fund in 2020, making him one of its top donors.

He provided hundreds of thousands of additional money to the Nancy Pelosi Victory Fundthe Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). He also gave tens of thousands of dollars more to state Democratic parties and individual campaigns, many of which were maximum contributions.

It is unclear whether Alex donated to Harris-Walz's campaign, or how much.
