The actor has just joined the Marvel Universe and doesn't see why he would have refused…
He was the star of Star Wars. The star ofIndiana Jones. And at age 82, he joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (destined to become Red Hulk) in Captain America: Brave New Worldwhich will be released in theaters next year.
So don't go telling Harrison Ford that there are no more movie stars in Hollywood: “Oh, I think it's nonsense. It’s absurd to say that.”
In an interview with GQ magazine, Harrison Ford believes, moreover, that the question is of no interest in itself:
“Whether there are movie stars or not is not the question. There are wonderful actors emerging every day. Whether or not they become movie stars is not really an issue .If movies need stars, they'll find them. I never understood what it was to be a movie star. I'm a storyteller. of people working together, collaborating to tell stories. I'm an assistant storyteller.
Moreover, the American actor did not hesitate for long to join the MCU, deemed responsible by Quentin Tarantino on the death of Hollywood stars: “It would be stupid to avoid Marvel. It's a whole universe and I'm just passing through… I'm new to this town.” And Harrison Ford to judge:
“You have to move with the times. It would be stupid to sit back and regret change and refuse to participate in it. I'm participating in a new part of the industry that, for me, really produces good experiences for an audience. And I like that!”
Captain America: Brave New World will be released on February 12, 2025 in cinemas in France.
