Police in Duluth, Minnesota are actively investigating after discovering the deaths of five people in two separate homes in West Duluth on Thursday around 2:10 p.m.
A news release shows Duluth police responded to a welfare check call in the 6000 block of Tacony Street, where they found a 47-year-old woman and a juvenile dead inside.
After investigation, they were able to identify a suspect located at a residence in the 4400 block of West 6th Street.

Police were able to enter the house where they found another 45-year-old woman and a minor deceased from gunshot wounds, in addition to the suspect, a 46-year-old man. The suspect also died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police officials.
Police believe the victims know each other, but are not releasing their names at this time pending notification of next of kin.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victims involved in this tragic event. This incident is the subject of an active and ongoing investigation,” the statement said. “A press conference is expected to take place tomorrow. More details will be released later.”
