First Look at The Thing on the Set of MCU's Fantastic Four

In stone and bone! While the filming of the Fantastic Four Marvel's The Thing is in full swing, today we get our first glimpse of The Thing. A few leaked images from around the set show us members of the technical team, who are dressing an actor (or his stunt double) in a giant costume. Practical effects to make The Thing, including a real mask to cover the face ofEbon Moss-Bachrachwho will play the character, aka Ben Grimm in the film.

We assume that the costume will be retouched in post-production. But the actor had previously suggested that he would only do motion capture. These images prove that there will therefore also be practical effects.

Fantastic Four: First Steps is due to be released in theaters on July 23, 2025.

The cast will include Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing) and Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm). For supporting roles, we also know that John Malkovich, Ralph Ineson, Paul Walter Hauser and Natasha Lyonne will be present.
