Seven years after You Were Never Really Here, the Scottish director returns with Die, My Love.
Lynne Ramsay (We Need to Talk about Kevin) has hired Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson for his new film entitled Die, My Love. A dramatic comedy following a young mother in crisis, inspired by the book Die, my loveby Ariana Harwicz (2019), which she co-adapted with Enda Walsh (Hungry by Steve McQueen). This project is produced by Martin Scorsese, and by the main actress, via his company Excellent Cadaver. The first photos from the film have just been revealed, and they obviously focus on the star duo.
This is the Scottish director's first feature film since 2017 and her thriller A Beautiful Day (You Were Never Really Here), worn by Joaquin Phoenix. She explains about the very particular tone of her new film: “It's about mental health and a marriage that's deteriorating, but it's honestly funny. Well, at least I find this film funny. But hey, I'm from Glasgow, maybe I have a sense of humor very dark?”
Sissy Spacek, LaKeith Stanfield and Nick Nolte complete the cast of Die, My Lovewhich does not yet have a release date. But now that these first photos are available, should we discover its trailer soon?
In addition to this project, the director also shot Polarisstarring Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix, billed as “a Rosemary's Baby in the Arctic”and she also has to shoot a film with Julianne Moore and Sandra Oh, aboard a cruise, currently titled Stone Mattress.
