Producer Justin Springer discusses for Première this third part with Jared Leto, which is part of the continuity of the franchise but refuses to carry its full weight.
As part of our Preview 2025 file, read in the issue of First currently on newsstands (with Kaamelott – Second part on the cover), the producer of Tron: AresJustin Springer – already at work on the previous part, Tron: Legacy – gives us some exclusive details on this blockbuster which will be released in cinemas on October 8, 2025.
“ The film has ties to the previous two, but it's definitely not a sequel. We could talk about a soft reboot – anything is better than the term “sequel”! – and the idea is to convey some of the mythology while telling a completely new story. Tron: Ares speaks of the emergence of something new, of the moment when the boundary between the virtual world and the real world becomes blurred. »
Director Joachim Rønning (Maleficent: Bring On Evil, Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge…) will bring together Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith and Gillian Anderson. And Jeff Bridges will obviously return for a little tour in the franchise, even if we imagine that his role will be less than in the two previous parts. On the soundtrack, we will find Nine Inch Nails who will succeed Daft Punk.
