“Emily in Paris in Rome? That doesn’t make sense!” The President of the Republic gave an amusing interview to Variety magazine.
A few days after the appearance of the First Lady in Emily in Parisit is the turn of the President of the Republic to speak on the Netflix series.
During a long interview given to the American magazine Variety today, Emmanuel Macron discusses various subjects, from the Paris Olympic Games to the place of streaming and the dangers of AI. And in passing, he gives his opinion on Emily in Pariswho is expected to move to Rome (at least a few episodes) in the fifth season. A scandal?
“We will fight. And we are going to ask them to stay in Paris!” answers Emmanuel Macron with humor to the Variety journalist. “Emily in Paris in Rome…that doesn’t make sense.”

The head of state also admits to having been “super proud” to see his wife make her cameo.
“And she was very happy to do it. It's only a few minutes, but I think it was a very good moment for her. I think it's good for the image of France. Emily in Paris is super positive in terms of attractiveness for the country. It’s a very good initiative for us.”
As for whether he himself would ever consider making an appearance in Emily in Parishe responds again with humor: “I am much less attractive than Brigitte!”
