The Day of the Jackal will be entitled to a sequel on Prime Video.
This is one of the very good surprises of this end of year: The Day of the Jackal concluded its season 1 with a breathtaking finale. A terrible cliffhanger for fans, who crossed their fingers hoping for a season 2. Their wishes were granted since season 2 was officially ordered by Sky and Peacock, the two English and American broadcasters of this serial remake of the Jackalvisible in France on Prime Video.
Eddie Redmayne in person appeared on social media to confirm: “If there's one thing the Jackal can't stand, it's a mission that's not completely completed! So we’ll see you again soon for season 2!”
The actor is referring here to the disconcerting finale of season 1, which opens the door wide to a sequel.
Director Brian Kirk says in Variety: “There was such intense investment in the character of the Jackal, and so much enthusiasm for how the story could be taken even further, that it had to be validated by a second season. We will be able to develop this intellectual property (The Jackal is originally a book published in 1972, Editor's note)”.
