It is a counter role for Eddie Redmayne. Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in A wonderful story of timegentle and shy magician in Fantastic Beasts or Danish trangender artist in Danish Girl, the British actor will become The Jackalin a bloody thriller.
The Day of the Jackal will be a new adaptation, in series, of a novel by Frederick Forsyth (published in 1971), which gave rise to the action film The Jackalin 1997, with Bruce Willis in the role of the hitman, chased by Richard Gere. A version very far from the original novel, which recounted an assassination attempt against General de Gaulle (after the failed attack at Petit Clamart). A first film adaptation, released in 1973, with Edward Foxwas much more faithful.
The series The Day of the Jackalwhich reveals its trailer today, will not take place in the 1960s and will not be a direct adaptation of the novel, but will follow this international assassin named Jackal who “earns his living as a hitman for the highest price. But after his latest murder, he meets his match in the person of a tenacious British intelligence officer who sets out in pursuit of him in a thrilling cat race the mouse across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.”

The Day of the Jackalco-produced by Sky in Great Britain, will be released on November 7 across the Channel and November 14 on the American platform. We do not yet know who will broadcast in France.
