The new comedy À l'ancienne is off to a good start, even if it falls far short of the scores of The Count of Monte Cristo.
A few days ago, The Count of Monte Cristo passed the 8 million admissions mark. Only -3% of attendance compared to the previous week: an edifying figure which shows to what extent the romantic epic continues to attract crowds, after two months of operation. Pierre Niney still sells 357,000 tickets and easily retains first place at the French box office.
Behind, Emilia Perez is holding up well. Climbing into second place, the musical comedy of Jacques Audiard has had a good third week in theaters with nearly 200,000 tickets and is approaching 650,000 spectators in total, with a million in sight eventually.
Among the new features, the one that is doing best is called Old fashioned. The Bourdon / Darmon duo attracts 120,000 curious people and places fourth. Nothing exceptional in itself, but a solid start for the comedy distributed in a limited park of 500 theaters. Above all, we will note that Didier Bourdon continues its momentum. An impressive 2024 for the troublemaker of Unknownswhich has already been a hit this winter with Private hunting ground and in spring with Cock-a-doodle-doo. Old fashioned will clearly not reach 2 million admissions like the two previous films, but the Breton farce directed by Hervé Mimran should make an honorable score.
It should be noted that the American-Georgian drama Tatami debuts in ninth position with 60,000 admissions (in only a hundred theaters).
In the rest of the ranking, summer hits continue to attract a hundred thousand spectators. But Deadpool & Wolverine, A little something extra And Alien: Romulus are slowly reaching the end of the race.
