The Gladiator 2 actor also suggests that Ryan Coogler will be back at the helm.
Already in the running for another Oscar for his performance in Gladiator 2, Denzel Washington was a guest on NBC's American morning show this Tuesday. And during the Today Showthe 69-year-old star dropped a little bombshell: he too should join the Marvel cinematic universe. He will obviously be in Black Panther 3 !
“I'm going to play Hannibal. I also talked about a film project with Steve McQueen (director of Blitz and 12 Years a Slave)” begin Denzel Washingtonsetting out the rest of his career, before revealing:
“And then also, Ryan Coogler is writing me a role in the next Black Panther.”
Denzel Washington is announced thus in Black Panther 3, without saying more about the role he could play, but suggesting in passing that the director Ryan Coogler will be back at the helm (at least to the script), which has not yet been officially announced by Marvel.
Denzel Washington finishes his list of projects: “And after that, I will make the Othello film and then a King Lear film (adapted from Shakespeare). After that, I will retire!”
