Dead Boy Detectives Cancelled by Netflix

The Sandman spin-off series will not have a season 2.

Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri) are already closing their agency. The fantasy crime series Dead Boy Detectives has been canceled by Netflix. Launched on April 25, season 1 will therefore not have a season 2, due to lack of audience.

Dead Boy Detectives is based on characters created for DC by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner. Originally planned for Max, the show was rejected at the last minute by Warner Bros. because it did not fit the new direction of Max-DC content led by James Gunn and Peter Safran.

The series was therefore picked up by Netflix, becoming part of the universe Sandmanbecause the Dead Boy Detectives were first introduced in an issue of the comic strip Sandman by Gaiman.
