THE Doctor Who fan favorite, brilliant in Good Omens or at Marvel in Jessica Joneswill make its return to the small screen. David Tennant will be the star of a crazy new British series. A drama in the 1980s, which will be called Rivals and which was created for Disney Plus.
It will be the eight-part adaptation of Dame Jilly Cooper's novel (1988), with the backdrop of the excesses of the social elite of England at the time. Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell), a former Olympic athlete turned MP is “an incorrigible and dangerously charismatic debauchee”. He will face Lord Tony Baddingham (Tennant), boss of Corinium Television and resolutely ambitious and selfish enemy of Rupert.
Aidan Turner (Poldark) is also announced in the casting. Rivals will be released in 2024 on Disney Plus. No date announced yet. Watch the trailer:
