The first new DC movie“Superman”He was selected to play the role of the new Superman/Clark Kent.David CorenswetWhat does he have in common with Christopher Reeve in the 1978 version of Superman? Director and screenwriter James Gunn praised his tireless approach to his work.
Gunn has previously praised Corensweatt, saying, “I think you'll be surprised at how great he is. He's one of the best actors I've ever worked with.” At the press conference for the release of the trailer,“In some ways, the similarities with Christopher Reeve are that he (Corenswet) is very disciplined. I've never worked with an actor who is so thorough.”he said.
“He was constantly challenging me to get the most out of my role and the story of Superman. Everything he does in this movie is true, and as I watch the footage day by day, he challenges me all the time. There was never a moment where I felt like David was acting weird, or unrealistic, or faking it, or being fake, and that was miraculous. I think so.”
Corenswet himself seemed to find a personal connection to the role of Superman. “When I was a student, I couldn't get involved in anything dramatic and didn't get to know any interesting gossip. That's why I thought people were so much better than me,'' he said, reflecting on his own experiences. This overlaps with Superman's belief in human goodness.
“Superman is seen as a naive character. Its nature is, in fact, blindness to the petty imperfections and follies of human beings. I tend to overlook that, and Superman also tends to overlook that kind of thing. I think that's why he is able to look at goodness and hope with such firm determination. ”
What is the new-age Superman/Clark Kent image created by Gunn & Corenswet to carry on Superman's “legacy”? The full story will be revealed in the movie “Superman'', which will be released in the summer of 2025.
