Parker McCollum's boots weren't made for walking.
The 32-year-old suffered an embarrassing fall on his New Mexico stage Friday, his first concert back since becoming a father for the first time.
The “Like a Cowboy” singer, however, showed quick reflexes. After falling down the stairs, guitar in hand, he did a sideways somersault and managed to land safely.
In a video captured by a fan, the country artist appears stunned as he gets up and walks across the stage.

Country musician Corey Kent, who was McCollum's special guest at Rio Rancho, poked fun at his friend later in the show, examining the stairs to see if they were stable.
“I have to check this out for you,” Kent said in a video he shared on his own Instagram.
“Come on, dog,” McCollum pleaded.

After being assured by Kent that everything was “fine,” McCollum asked his fellow musician if he had “ever done a scene” before.
“One time in Florida,” Kent says, “I stood up.”

Kent tried to calm the situation by implying that McCollum looked like “an athlete” when he fell.
“This thing is already on TikTok,” McCollum said. “Go for it, baby! I have no shame! I don’t care.”
Fans in the comments section of Kent's Instagram account praised McCollum for his impressive handling of the situation.
“Saving the guitar is like not spilling your beer,” one person wrote.
“You have to give him credit, he did it with a whole guitar in his hand,” another user commented.
“I wish I could have fallen that fast and gracefully. I just fell ugly,” joked one fan.
“I don't know if it can get any more graceful than that lol,” reiterated another.
McCollum is in good company. Other country stars, including Shania Twain, Luke Bryan and Carly Pearce, have also been eliminated over the years.
