Chris Evans in Nomad mode in Avengers: Doomsday?

This variant of Captain America from Marvel Comics had already been touched upon in Avengers: Infinity War.

The return of Chris Evans within the Marvel Universe is not yet official. But already, speculation is rife as to who he will play in Avengers: Doomsday. Captain America? Captain America old? A twisted variation in Captain Hydra mode?

Jeff Sneider, specialist in Hollywood revelations, announces that Chris Evans going to play Nomad. Speaking on The Hot Mic podcast, he said:

“I heard what his character would be… I had this conversation today, and someone mentioned it: Nomad!”

Information to be taken with a grain of salt, but potentially credible information.

Nomad is the alternate identity that Steve Rogers adopts in the comics Captain America #180 from 1974. In this storyline, he abandons his Captain America costume and nickname after losing faith in the US government and becomes a man serving no country.

A version of Nomad was loosely adapted into Avengers: Infinity Warwhere Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evanswas on the run with Sam Wilson and Natasha Romanoff. Co-director Joe Russo even confided that, if he was not exactly Nomad at that moment, he played well “ the spirit of this character ” In Infinity War.

Knowing that the Russos will realize Avengers: Doomsdayit would be possible for them to develop a real version of Nomador as a multiversal variant (coming from the universe where Doctor Doom is Robert Downey Jr. ?) or like an evolution of Steve Rogers from Earth-616.

Avengers: Doomsday will be released at the end of April 2026 in France.
