Cameron Diaz shares why she needed to leave Hollywood

The 52-year-old actress will make her return in 2025, more than ten years after her last film.

She has not appeared on cinema screens since 2014. Then in 2018, she announced her retirement… But here we are again Cameron Diaz !

The former star of Mary at all costs will return to service on Netflix in an action film. And as the promo tour begins, she talks about her Hollywood break in an interview with Fortune magazine:

“For me, it was just something I had to do. I felt like I had to do it to get my own life back together. And that's all I really cared about.”

Because the actress has transformed into a businesswoman. Diaz became a winemaker, launching her vegan wine brand Avaline with her friend Katherine Power in 2020. Far from movie sets:

“The opinion of others, anyone, didn't matter to me. No success, no offer, nothing could make me change my mind about my decision. I had decided to take care of myself and build a life that I really wanted to have. In fact, it comes down to asking yourself this simple question: what excites you about starting my family?”

Cameron Diaz is married to musician Benji Madden of the punk rock band Good Charlotte. They welcomed their first child via surrogacy in 2019 and a second child in March this year.

So why is Diaz coming back today? We will find it in January 2025 in Back in Actionwith Jamie Foxx. They will play a couple of former spies who abandon their careers at the CIA to start a family together, until they are forced to return.
