“He really cares about what I do, what I become…” Frankie Muniz talks about his current relationship with his former TV dad.

He was his father for six seasons, between 2000 and 2006 and inevitably, that creates bonds. Although his career has since exploded – thanks to breaking Bad among others – Brian Cranston continue to take care of Frankie Munizas the former interpreter of Malcolmwhich reveals:

I started working with Bryan when I was 11 or 12 years old. He really became like a father figure to me” he explains on the podcast Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum. “And even today, he remains someone close. Yes, he's basically become a god in Hollywood now. He's made incredible films, incredible series, won tons of awards. But he still calls me every week or two to check on me!

Frankie Muniz had health problems and has since given up acting to do professional stock car racing and some music (after a stint with Dancing with the stars). But Brian Cranston never let go:

“He really cares about what I'm doing, what I'm becoming. He even comes to see me at the races from time to time. If my band plays, he comes to the shows. Honestly, he's such an inspiration to me. I hope I can do this for someone else someday in the future.”

Maybe one day, Brian Cranston will succeed in bringing back Frankie Muniz on screen. Last year, the star campaigned for a return of Malcolm : “Boomer (the creator) is really thinking about it and we're all in. All the actors said OK. We would all really like to see each other again. I don't need any work specifically and it has to be done well. But I would love to have this cast and crew back.”
