In response to the backlash, Blum released a statement on his Telegram channel explaining the reasons behind the delay. The team emphasizes that they are building a trading application where the BLUM token will serve as the core of the ecosystem. They argued that launching a token without a practical use case would result in a short-lived hype, as seen with other Telegram-based tokens.
The statement reads:
“The key point is: when we launch these tokens, they have to have real use—real value. We don't want to create another token whose hype disappears immediately after launch.”
The team reiterates their commitment to ensuring everything is ready before the token launch:
“That's why we make sure everything is completely ready before we release the token. You've seen MemePad, and now the Blum trading bot is in the testing phase. We develop trading features and strive to do this in the best way, focusing on your needs, as a trader and as a community.”
The Bigger Picture
Blum admits that although they could have launched the Token Generation Event (TGE) earlier, their mission is to create a sustainable platform, not make empty promises.
“From the start, our plan was to create a platform that combined trading bots, cross-chain interactions, MemePad, and futures trading. We are here to build something that will last.”
When Will the Airdrop Happen?
The statement concludes with an assurance that the airdrop will take place as soon as the platform features are fully operational:
“We know you can't wait for this moment. We do too. But patience is key to creating a stable platform that will endure over time. The crypto world is on the verge of significant change, and you will be at the forefront.”
