Before a new James Bond in cinema, there will be a new James Bond in video games

Project 007 will feature “a James Bond that we built from scratch for players.”

The producers of James Bond at the cinema want to take their time before restarting the machine, after the very successful saga around Daniel Craig. Who to take up the torch?

The mission will be delicate and while waiting to know the name of the lucky one, it is the world of video games that will take over James Bond. IO Interactive announced its game Project 007 almost four years ago. The project is progressing slowly, but CEO Hakan Abrak has just revealed crucial information: it will be an original story, with a James Bond original !

Clearly, the title will not be an adaptation of Dying can wait Or Spectrummodeling Daniel Craig or another 007 in 3D. This will be a mission created expressly for the title, and which will be divided into three parts. In short, some news Bond trilogy which should help keep fans of the agent in the service of Her Majesty waiting for his return to theaters.

“What's exciting about this project is that we were able to really make an original story” details Abrak in an interview with IGN. “It is therefore not a gamification of a film (like Golden Eye at the time for example). It's a complete story, at least the beginning, destined to turn into a great trilogy.” He then specifies:

“Just as important and exciting, we will have a new Bond. It's a James Bond that we built from scratch for players. It's extremely exciting, with all the lore and history of the character, to be working on this project with the Fleming family to create a young Bond for players. A Bond that players can make their own and with which they can evolve.”

However, we do not yet know which actor will serve as a model and vocal understudy for the character. “I don't want to say too much, but I just hope we do something that defines James Bond in video games for years to come. Because it's not just a game: we're creating a universe that players can own for many years to come and with which we can evolve, alongside the Bond films.“

No release date has yet been announced, but production of the game is progressing well according to the CEO.
