Beetlejuice 2 still rolling at the US box office, Speak No Evil is doing well

Tim Burton's film is already approaching $300 million worldwide, while James McAvoy is drawing crowds.

It continues to thrill the US box office. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice remains at the top of the North American rankings and still takes $51.6 million in its second weekend in theaters. With $188 million across the Atlantic, the film by Tim Burton is a huge hit, which is already starting to reach the heights of 2024, since Beetlejuice 2 is already at $264 million in worldwide revenue after two weeks, better than Ghostbusters: The Ice Menace Or A Quiet Place: Day 1 at the end of the course.

So the big news of the week doesn't carry any weight. Speak No Evil – which will be released Wednesday in France – comes in second with $11.5 million at the US box office (in 3,375 theaters). A good score for the Universal and Blumhouse remake of the Danish horror film (2022). Carried by James McAvoy And Mackenzie Davisthe dark comedy crosses the $20 million cumulative mark worldwide.

Given that Speak No Evil cost only $15 million, it will be a financial hit for Blumhouse in the long run and could approach the success of Longlegs ($103 million at the beginning of the summer). The fact remains that the studio specializing in low-budget horror will not have succeeded this year in reproducing the hits of Five Nights at Freddy ($292 million in 2023) or M3GAN ($180 million in 2022).

We will also note the failure of Dave Bautista In The Killer's Game. Lionsgate's action film only opens in 6th place, collecting only $2.6 million – from 2,623 theaters – in its first weekend in American theaters. The Killer's Game does not yet have a release date in France.
