The fantasy series from South Korea continues its demonic story.
Following the success of Squid Gamereleased two months earlier, Hellbound had ridden the K-drama wave on Netflix. A dark fantasy tale from South Korea, Hellbound told of a world haunted by a supernatural phenomenon: creatures appeared from the bowels of the Earth, to kill certain humans… A manifestation of God who would punish them by sending them to hell?
The series signed by the director of Last train to Busan, Yeon Sang-hois based on a webtoon by Yeon. And three years later, here is finally the sequel. The trailer for season 2 of Hellbound has just been put online (below).
What will it be about?Jung Jinsu, founder of the New Truth religious sect, has returned after being condemned to hell for several years. Upon his return, he realizes that the followers of his New Truth, the most extreme members of his sect, the Arrowheads, now rule society. But when Jinsu discovers that he is not the only one who has returned to the land of the living, he seeks to understand what resurrection has done to him. Is resurrection truly damnation, as the New Truth preaches, or could it be the path to true salvation?
The cast of season 2 will include Kim Sung-cheol (as Jung Jinsu), Kim Hyun-joo (Min Hyejin) or even Kim Shin-rock (Jungja Park).
