Armie Hammer announces his big return to Hollywood, he even refuses roles!

In 2021, the star of Social Network and Call Me By Your Name was accused of sexual assault by several women with whom he had extramarital affairs. An investigation by the Los Angeles police was opened, after one of them publicly denounced her cannibalism fantasybut the charges against Armie Hammer ended up being abandoned. He always claimed that all his relationships were consensual. Faced with the scandal, his agency, WME, removed him from the list of its clients and he remained away from Hollywood since these denunciations. At the same time, a documentary sleaze came out on his wealthy and dysfunctional family.

In October, we learned of his hiring on an indie western by Travis Mills with William H. Macy and Thomas Jane. Titled Frontier Crucibleit was filmed before Christmas in Arizona and tells the story of a former soldier with a tragic past who finds himself thrust into an uneasy alliance with three outlaws, a beautiful woman and her wounded husband, in 1870. C is his first participation in a film since Death on the Nileby Kenneth Branagh, filmed before this scandal and released in cinemas in early 2022.

“My dance book is starting to be quite full,” comments the person concerned. “The tide is changing and it takes time. It’s slow, but at the moment, when my name is mentioned by people at industry, the conversation boils down to: 'Dude, but this guy got screwed!', and that is very encouraging. You know, the first job I turned down after four years of all this shit, it was the best feeling I ever had.”

During the interview, Hammer also returned to his sexual practices, evoking accusations of cannibalism and BDSM, but reiterating his defense: according to him, all his relations with his mistresses were consensual.

“As in any community, there are people who are there for the right reasons, who love it, who are safe,” he says. “They are intelligent, they care about the people they engage with, but I think there are also unsavory characters who are drawn into this world, like in politics…”

By nourishing his desires, he said he wanted to find a way to turn his life upside down, as it did not resemble what he felt inside.

“I think deep down, subconsciously, I wanted to get caught, he explains. Because I did not correspond to the image that the public had of me. They said: 'Look at them, they're like the Ralph Lauren family, they have the perfect life, the perfect house and the perfect kids.' Whereas I felt like a fucking alien walking around most of the time. I didn't feel human, but more like a creature.”
