Amy Winehouse biopic “Back to Black” to be released on November 22nd | THE RIVER

A film depicting the life of the rare singer Amy Winehouse, who lived her life instinctively and with love, and died at the young age of 27.“Back to Black” will be released nationwide in Japan under the title “Back to Black: All About Amy” on Friday, November 22, 2024.

Amy Winehouse is one of the greatest artists in recent history, having sold over 30 million records worldwide and still receiving over 80 million monthly streams. She created her own style and sound by fusing various musical elements, and released her album “Back to Black,” which won her five Grammy Awards. Her hit single “Rehab” won five of the four major Grammy Award categories, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist, and became a worldwide hit.

Amy Winehouse rose to stardom, but she is also known for her troubles with alcoholism and divorce, which caused controversy in the public eye. She was thrust into the limelight at a young age, and although she was confused by her sudden fame, she was a rare diva who “lived for love,” singing instinctively with lyrics that expressed raw emotion and her unique, languid, husky voice.

The film will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, known for his work on Nowhere Boy (2009) and Fifty Shades of Grey (2015). Amy Winehouse will be played by Marisa Abela, who played the main character in the British TV series Industry and Princess Barbie in the film Barbie.
