A film project is in sight for streaming, in the form of a reboot.
The brothers Grimm are decidedly timeless. The detective series from the 2010s, entitled Grimm and broadcast in France on Syfy and NT1 (now TFX), will make its return. This time in the form of a film.
The American streaming platform Peacock (which does not exist in France), belonging to Universal which owns the rights to Grimm (the series was broadcast on its NBC channel at the time in the USA), is developing a reboot of the fantasy detective series, which should therefore not be a sequel.
Josh Bermanthe creator of Drop Dead Divais currently writing the film, with the showrunners of the original series David Greenwalt And Jim Kouf.
No word yet on what it might be about, but the original series featured David Giuntoli as Portland homicide cop Nick Burkhardt who discovers he's a Grimmunderstand a fairytale monster slayer, a guardian sworn to protect the balance between humanity and mythological creatures. Throughout the series, Nick faces various threatening adversaries with the help of his friend Monroe.
Grimm lasted six seasons (from 2011 to 2017). The finale aired in March 2017, with a flash-forward showing that Nick's son Kelly had grown up to become a Grimm himself, fighting alongside his father, his mother Adalind and his half-brother. sister Diana, as well as triplets Monroe and Rosalee. So obviously, we say to ourselves that the new Grimm could well shed light on them.
