Louise Violet made the best start of the week ahead of The Substance. The reunion of Tom Hanks and Zemeckis for Here is a long way off.

There are a lot of new releases at the cinema this week in France. And the one that took the lead at the box office is not necessarily the one we expected. Louise Violethistorical chronicle ofEric Besnardabout a schoolteacher at the end of the 19th century in France, is at the top of the release rankings, with 20,000 admissions for its first day and already 113,000 with previews.

Alexandra Lamy thus dominates Demi Moore And The Substance. The SF tragicomedy of Coralie Fargeat totaled 30,000 counter-marks after this first Wednesday (previews included) and opened in second position, but with the best average of the day (65 per copy). And for good reason, The Substance is only entitled to a pool limited to 270 rooms, compared to 570 for Louise Violet.

In third position, we find the latest film ofEmmanuel Mouretwhich currently has 20,000 admissions (in only 250 theaters). Three friends does as much as Chronicle of a fleeting affairhis previous film released two years ago, and which started at the top with 21,000 admissions, ending with more than 300,000 spectators.

Finally, we will note in this ranking the very poor start of Here. Distributed on 230 screens, the reunion of Robert Zemeckis with Tom Hanks And Robin Wright30 years later Forrest Gumpfailed to create buzz, despite its unique fixed camera concept. Only 15 spectators per screening, this is the smallest average of the day. Here is satisfied with 3,000 tickets sold, far from Welcome to Marwenhis last feature film (in 2019), which had a first day of 12,000 admissions. The poetic film is even beaten by the political film of François Ruffin, Get to work! which totals almost 20,000 admissions (with previews) and the romantic comedy At full speedcarried by Pio Marmai (7,000 spectators).
