Alban Ivanov Takes a Hit in Challenger Trailer

After tennis in Challengersboxing is in the spotlight in Challenger. In the run-up to the Olympic Games, UGC unveils the first images from the film Variant Soudjian with Alban Ivanov in the lead role. Punches, low blows, publicity stunts… Anything goes in this sports comedy, from which one cannot help but detect a (slightly parodic) connection to some of the most cult boxing films, Raging Bull And Rocky on your mind.

Challenger is the fourth collaboration between Varante Soudjian and Alban Ivanov, after Walter, Inseparable And CrossingThe French actor is making his big comeback to the cinema after his appearance in season 1 of Panda for TF1 and in season 4 of Lol: Who laughs, gets out! for Amazon Prime.

To give the reply to his favorite actor, Varante Soudjian chose to turn to popular stars, sometimes social media phenomena. There is, for example, Audrey Pirault – Luka’s agent in the film –, who started his career on YouTube and which he has already managed in Crossing.

There is also Soso ManessMarseille rapper, writing partner of Jul, Fianso, SCH, Gims or PLK.

Actor and Instagrammer @toniolifeoff (Alexander Antonio), David Salles (Starting point), Jonas Dinal (Terrible Jungle), Pierre-François Martin-Laval Robin Hoods, Nordine Salhi (The Deguns) And Nassim Benahmed complete the distribution.

Challenger will be released in theaters on October 23, after being presented at the Angoulême Festival which will be held from August 27 to September 1.
