Three new projects are already in the pipeline.
22 million views for its first week on Netflix: I miss you (Missing You) is not at the level of Squid Game 2. But the detective series adapted from Harlan Coben still makes a nice splash on the platform. As Double trap in 2024. As Without a word in 2022. Like Don't walk away in 2021.
Harlan Coben has a deal with the platform, which has the right to adapt 14 of his novels (into films or series). I miss you is the eighth in just 5 years. Netflix therefore has the right to bring 8 more books by the author to the screen and will certainly not deprive itself, in view of the audiences. Three new series are already in the works.
It won't start Atrapados adapted from the novel Lack of evidence (Caught in English), a Spanish-language series from Agentine, which will be carried by the young local star Soledad Villamil. The story is about a journalist who specializes in exposing criminals who have already escaped justice, “but finds her prejudices torn apart when faced with the main suspect in a case.” Filming is already finished.
In 2026, it's the series I Will Find You which will be released on Netflix, adapted from the novel In your footstepsthe penultimate book by the writer published in France in 2023. The story is about David who received life imprisonment for the murder of his child. Five years later, David learns that his son is alive… Filming has not yet taken place and the casting is still unknown. We just know that the series should have 8 episodes filmed in English.
Finally, Netflix will also adapt Don't run away anymore (Run Awaypublished in 2019), which will provide a thriller in the English language about which we still know nothing. The book pitch announces: “Homeless girl in Central Park. She's your daughter. Missing for months. She's on the run, she's in trouble. You want to save her. Of course, who wouldn't help their child?”
