Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Thursday that he expects the agreement between Israel and Hamas to take effect on Sunday.
“I think this week has been another reminder of the power and purpose of American leadership and American diplomacy. During 15 months of devastating conflict between Israel and Hamas, we worked to negotiate a deal that would bring back the hostages home, that would stop the fighting, that would allow for increased humanitarian aid to people who desperately need it, that would create the space to reach a permanent ceasefire,” Blinken said.
