As season 2 arrives, the creator confesses to already having the last scene of his crazy story in mind.

Impossible to guess how it will end Severance. But a man knows. The creator Dan Erickson knows, in his head, the end of the crazy story of the employees of Lumen Industries.

“I have a pretty clear idea of ​​the end point of the series” he reveals in an interview with io9.

“I kind of have a final scene that's always been in my head that answers some of the big questions. I think those are rules that you have to know to be good at mastering the things that you're writing. And at the same time it's a balance, because I like to be surprised by the story. Sometimes we meet a new character or discover a new place or a new element of the series and I fall in love with it. am the first to be surprised and I tell myself that I have to integrate it into the big story… There needs to be a mix between this upstream thinking and letting yourself be surprised by the series.”

While the second season of Severance should be launched this January 17, Dan Erickson suggests in any case that it will not be the last.

He claims to have a “idea” of the number of seasons he would like to do without specifying: “It's not 100% sure, but we've talked about it internally for a number of seasons and we're all pretty confident we have a number that we're comfortable with.”

Given the ambition of the casting and the writing, it's a safe bet that the series will not go beyond 3 or 4 seasons.
