Here is an extract from the review by Patrick Fabre:
“With 'Edward…'Tim Burton and his screenwriter Caroline Thompson have simply created a new fairy tale which should quickly become a classic. Normal for a film that begins with the tune of'Once upon a time'… When Edward widens his little eyes during his discovery of the world, we imagine those of the children, amazed by this guy who transforms privet into works of art and shears poodles at great speed. (…) Edward, it East Beauty and the Beast by Cocteau rock version. A poetic and lyrical film that leaves you dreaming. The presence of Vincent Price, the director's idol, is no coincidence: his name has often been associated with fantastic masterpieces. A genre to which, once again, Tim Burton has just made a superb contribution.”
