President-elect Trump has nominated Somers Farkas and John Arrigo as ambassadors.
If confirmed, Arrigo, who is vice president of Arrigo Auto Group in West Palm Beach, Fla., would serve as ambassador to Portugal.

“John is a highly successful entrepreneur in the automobile industry and a champion golfer. For over thirty years, he has been an incredible leader in the business community in West Palm Beach and is respected by all,” Trump wrote on its Truth Social platform. “I've known John for a long time. He will do incredible work for our country and will always put America first.”
Arrigo is a longtime Trump associate, according to a 2021 Business Insider report.

Farkas, a model and philanthropist, is said to serve American interests in the island nation of Malta.
Farkas previously served on the Trump White House Scholarship Commission.

In her announcement, Trump said she “has raised millions of dollars for charities, including the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the Alzheimer's Associate, the Lighthouse Guild, the New York Women's Foundation and, as a trustee of the New York City Police Foundation where she has always SUPPORTED THE BLUE.”
