It has been revealed that the special video for the Reiwa version of “Superman'' presented by the new DC Universe has been viewed 250 million times, including on social media, within the first day of release. It is said to be the largest trailer video work for a DC Comics work or Warner Bros. in history. This was revealed by DC Studios' James Gunn on X.

The completely new “Superman'' is the first feature-length film to be released by DC Studios, which is newly led by James Gunn, known for the “Guardians of the Galaxy'' series. In this work, which marks the beginning of a new universe, David Corenswet was chosen to play a major role despite being unknown because he was “more suited to the role than his name recognition.'' The trailer footage depicts Superman, his entire body covered in wounds, fighting despite being yelled at by people.

Director Gunn has described the film as a paean to humanity, saying, “Basic human kindness can be seen as uncool or criticized by darker voices or louder voices.'' It's a movie that depicts that.'' Up until now, DC movies have formed their own film series, starting with 2013's Man of Steel (2013), and running parallel to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Crossover films such as Justice League (2017) were released, but their popularity gradually declined.
