Join Telegram ChannelChristmas Disney continues to thrive at the French box office, while War of the Rohirrim exploded in flight.
She is well on her way to being one of the stars of the 2024 box office. Moana 2 just doubled Love phew and placed in fourth position in the annual ranking, with 5 million entries in three weeks. Attendance remains solid (-45%) and another 1 million new tickets have been sold in recent days. A rate which could start to rise again in the coming days, with the Christmas holidays beginning. Something to tickle Vice-Versa 2currently third in the 2024 top in France? For now, Moana 2 is behind on passing times, but nothing is lost.
With Fanfare is the other big success of the moment. Emmanuel Courcol's film exceeds one million admissions and maintains very good attendance (270,000 admissions in the third week) which allows it to maintain second place at the French box office.
Benjamin Lavernhe and Pierre Lottin are ahead of Christian Clavier and Baptiste Lecaplain. Biggest novelty of the week, French comedy Never without my therapist got off to a good start, with just over 200,000 admissions for its first week in French cinemas.
Note among other new developments, the disappointing start of Saint-Ex. The biopic dedicated to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Aéropostale pilot in Argentina, with Louis Garrel in the title role, is content with 80,000 admissions for its first week.
It's even less good for Lord of the Rings. The great animated film The Rohirrim War failed to convince spectators to return to Middle-earth. Not helped by lukewarm reviews, it attracted just 70,000 spectators, despite its number of more than 400 theaters. The Rohirrim War does not even appear in the top 10 of the French box office of the week (below).
